PROGRESS (PROgramme for Governmental REceivers Specification and Standardization) is a 2 years project started in January 2009 and funded by the European GNSS Supervisory Authority (GSA) under their FP7 1st Call.
The overall objective of the PROGRESS study is the completion of the Galileo PRS standardisation activities that enable the development of prototype receivers to begin.
Those standardisation activities are taking into consideration user constraints such as environment (e.g. robustness, size, weight…), integration in a host platform (e.g. interfaces, consumption) and with other technologies (e.g. communications) as well as the need for security accreditation and safety certification.
